Thresher Sharks are large lamniform sharks from the family Alopiidae. These are found in the temperate and tropical oceans of the world. The family contains four species all within the genus Alopias. The genus and family name derives from the Greek word Alopex which means fox.
What is Thresher Shark
Thresher sharks are the species apparently found in the eastern Pacific off Baja California and recently previously been misidentified as the bigeye thresher. The species of sharks can jump fully out of the water and making turns like dolphins and this behavior is called breaching.
